With spring just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to sprinkle a little seasonal fun into your classroom with a few Easter early finisher activities. Having students that finish task at various times can be a bit of a scheduling headache, but it’s also an opportunity to provide enrichment activities. In this blog post, I’m sharing some of my favorite Easter-themed ideas designed to keep your students engaged and learning, even when they’ve completed their tasks ahead of schedule.

Easter Task Cards
Easter-themed task cards are a fantastic way to review previously taught skills. Cover topics like math operations, grammar, and vocabulary. This collection of Easter themed task cards includes a wide selection including math and language arts skills perfect for 3rd and 4th grade. Find a set or two to keep your early finishers engaged and learning. To make it even more festive turn the activity into an egg hunt by hiding task card filled eggs around the room for your students to find and complete.
Egg-citing Symmetry
For this Easter early finishers activity, challenge your students’ artistic and mathematical skills with an Easter Egg symmetry activity. Provide them with blank egg shapes and encourage them to create symmetrically decorated eggs. This activity is great for spatial awareness as well as being a creative outlet.
Spring Math Puzzles
The next Easter early finishers is to provide students with these Spring-themed math puzzles that incorporate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and number sense. These puzzles challenge critical thinking and problem-solving skills while adding a festive twist.
Easter Story Writing Prompts
Inspire imaginative storytelling with Easter-themed writing prompts. Encourage students to craft stories around the holiday, incorporating elements like the Easter Bunny, egg hunts, or springtime adventures. Here are a few prompts to get your writers started:
- Imagine you wake up on Easter morning and discover that you’ve turned into an Easter egg! Write a story about the adventures you have rolling around town.
- If you could have a conversation with the Easter Bunny, what would you ask? Write a letter to the Easter Bunny with your questions and see if he writes back!
- Invent a machine that can decorate Easter eggs in the blink of an eye. Describe how it works and the amazing designs it creates.
- Design a recipe for a special Easter treat. What ingredients will you need, and how will you make it? Don’t forget to add a creative name!
Egg Carton Multiplication and Division
Let your students practice making equal groups by sorting flower or bunny-shaped beads into the sections of egg cartons. You can challenge your advanced students by having each bead represent a different value. For example, the bunnies could be worth 10 while the flowers are each worth one.
